Japan congratulates China on rocket launch

For decades, Japan has been Asia's foremost space explorer. It has dispatched a probe to Mars and bore the distinction of being the third nation to send a rocket to the moon. On Wednesday a Japanese official extended congratulations to China for putting a man into space.

"I offer my congratulations and my heartfelt prayers for the success of their manned mission. I hope that they will conduct their operation with much caution until it lands safely," official said.
